I am getting insurance for my 2002 ZO6 and wanted to confirm some information.
1) There is no device to prevent the car from starting such as
a) fuel cut-off
b) ignition cut-off
c) starter cut-off
2) There is no steel collar covering the steering column
3) To activate security, you need to:
a) Remove ignition key AND
b) lock the doors
4) There is no hood lock and latching mechanism
5) The vechicle does not have the VIN etched into all windows and on or near the front or rear bumpers.
These are the State Farm questions. Any verification help is appreciated. :yesnod:
The key pellet for the PASS-key passive security DOES provide, starter & fuel cutoff along with locking the steering wheel for the MN6 cars. This activates every time you remove the ignition key, without pressing the fob buttons. It's a passive system.
Pressing the fob LOCK button arms the content alarm, which will trigger when the doors or trunk are opened. This is an active system.
These two levels of security are independent of each other.

Re: Anti-theft devices? (CDHough)
Actually-
1) There IS a fuel cut-off. You can't start the car with the incorrect key "chip".
Additionally, you can get the vin number etched into the windows for nearly free (my dealer did it for me for like $10).
Finally- look into a Lo-Jack. I have state Farm and they pretty much allowed mee to "overlook" the lack of motion detectors and active alarm because of the theft recovery system. Got me a pretty hefty discount on my insurance.
