Default Dual Climate Problems (HVAC)

Need some help with my logic

Car is a 1997 A4 w/ dual climate control

The story;
Both sides were blowing hot, so I went and got some freon.

While charging the freon, I stuck my hand in the car to feel passenger vent (closest to the pass door) and the air was blowing cold and getting colder.

I finish the charge, drive around for about 5 - 10 min and while parking back at home, the driver side is ice cold and the pass side is hot as he!!.

I have searched the forum and can't determine the problem. Does it need more freon (I put in a 14 oz can) or is the blower motor control module the culprit? I think the BMCM needs replacement anyway b/c I can't control when it turns on or a what speed the motor operates. (Are these related problems??)

Thanks for you help guys!!!

If I am understanding your post correctly, you have indicated that after the freon charge, one side was super cold and the the other side is hot as hell. I did not do a freon charge, but I had a similar problem once. I took the car to the stealership and they told me it was an actuator door problem. It also cost me $700! Ouch!! It indeed fixed the problem. After that, the next three unrelated repairs, by necessity and courage, did them myself

Sounds like the right actuator is bad. I had a similar issue, except it was the left side that was stuck on hot. I replaced the left actuator and all was good.

Are you showing a few HVAC DIC codes (probably B0446)?

Now I am really confused (not b/c of you guys, thanks)

I took rcataldo's advice and checked for codes and got these (both historical)
B0361 Left Actuator Feedback Short to GND
B0363 Left Actuator Feedback Open

So I am not currently thoring any codes and the past codes are for the left side.

In any event I have read that the blower control is a PITA to get to, but do-able. What about the left and right actuators?
