Default Intermittent problems down shifting after engine swap???

All,

After doing a bazillion searches and I can't seem to find any posts that pertain to my shifting symptoms.

The short story is that before my engine swap my LS7 clutch setup (which was new flywheel, clutch and slave) worked just fine. After the engine swap the clutch (same flywheel, clutch and slave) felt kinda funny, a little notchy and funky on down shifting (into 2nd), so I replaced the fluid (multiple times), bled multiple times and adjusted the shifter multiple times. During the swap I'm 99% sure I wrapped the hydrolic line to the slave but I haven't verified that.

Anyhow, the symptom that I'm still having is that randomly it can be difficult to down shift into 2nd (at a normal speed of course), especially if I make a WOT run through 2nd into 3rd and then begin slowing down (i.e. light to light type run)....eventually down shifting from 3rd into 2nd. It feels as if there is a lock out of some sort and then it eventually goes into gear without any noticeable grind of any sort. Up shifting into all gears feels just like it used to. As far as I know I'm not suffering from the sticky pedal issue for what its worth.

Logic says that it has to be something with the clutch not the tranny but who knows. Maybe my master is taking a dump???

Any thoughts or feedback...especially from those that have been-there-done-that with something similar or the very same?

TIA,
