POWERLOADER PROBLEMS. Has anybody had these symptoms?
Just installed the powerloader for these mods.
3.42 gears and Yank Super Thruster 3500 2.5 str converter.
Now on WOT from dead idle the 1-2 shift hits right at 6200. Now , here is the problem, the 2-3 shift HITS the rev limiter at 6000!!! Somehow, some way, the rev limiter seems to kick back DOWN on that shift (back to 6000)!! I am banging the rev limiter all over the place.
I still need to do more testing, but that seems to be the prelims for now. Anybody have similar experiences with a 3500 tc and banging the limiter like the above???
Will be contacting Steve Cole very very very very very soon. I have a race on Oct 28 and CANNOT miss it.

Call Steve and tell him what your problem is so that he can reprogram the Powerloader for you. Or call who you bought the Powerloader from and tell them your issue.
Re: POWERLOADER PROBLEMS. Has anybody had these symptoms? (intel55)
There is a little variance in converters and shifting and the PL can be programmed for those occasions which sounds like you have. Call Steve Monday morning, he and I talked about this last week for a customer of ours.
Get it prepared to ship Monday so you can get it to Steve as soon as possible if you have a deadline.
Re: POWERLOADER PROBLEMS. Has anybody had these symptoms? (RG in Dallas)
We have had some problems with the converters with higher than a 1.8 str. It seems they are slipping ALOT at WOT. They are not repeating from car to car. Since the settings are done in MPH the extra slipping causes the engine to reach the Rev limit before before it reachs the Mph to shift into the next gear. You need to return the PowerLoader so we can change the shift points alittle lower for your application and all will be solved.
Also check to make sure there is nothing else wrong as the Rev limiter is the same in all gears.

Yeah, I'm also having problems with my 3000 with 2.0 str. I believe Steve already shipped mine out so I should have it by Tuesday at the latest. I'll let you know how the re-programming works out for me.
Re: POWERLOADER PROBLEMS. Has anybody had these symptoms? (Steve Cole)
Thansk for the reply Steve. That sounds exactly like what is occuring. With the slow tach and lazy tranny I may be missing the exact point that the rev limiter hits on the 2-3 shift, should ATAP this today. I will be driving it a lil more today to get a better feel for the problem. I will email you the details and then call you monday morning. Thanks again
CRUSMISL: hahah the ST3500 is wicked. This is not a street converter but geared more towards track use, which is what I want. So far it just roasts the tires (BFG drags). Once I learn how to use the 2.5 str it should help me cut some good times at the track.

Re: POWERLOADER PROBLEMS. Has anybody had these symptoms? (intel55)
ugghhh
3 gear in now useless. It will not lockup at all!!! hahah I have to drive around in second gear. I put it into third and it starts to let go around 3000 ish and then I will be doing 35mph and 4000+rpms
My tranny has not been slipping prior to tc install. So I am still thinking that the computer is all screwed up. I am getting ZERO codes so far. the trannytemp reached 250 degrees and this is with a BM super cooler in there!!!! This thing is as loose as Traci Lords. No codes though yet???? Strange???
Re: POWERLOADER PROBLEMS. Has anybody had these symptoms? (intel55)
Oh yeah I ATAPed the car and all the tranny parameters, but I am not quite sure what to look at. Tranny's and me just do not mix.
Any ideas on what parameters to log??
Re: POWERLOADER PROBLEMS. Has anybody had these symptoms? (Supercharged)
I am trying . If my car is not ready then I will watch :mad
right now I think my tranny is low on fluid and is contributing to my tranny getting real hot and slipping more. Then the reprogram.
I think I should make it. :D
Re: POWERLOADER PROBLEMS. Has anybody had these symptoms? (SILVER~C5)
"Sounds like a Hypertec could have saved you alot of hassle-not to mention a ton of time "
na. I have used hypertech before, never on a C5 though. I had to many problems. The shift points are all wrong right now. Once steve Cole adjusts the shifts points, all should be well.
was starting to worry about my clutch packs, but I do not think that is a contributing factor. I am not very good with trannys though. There may be another lil problem that I will confirm tomorrow or monday. My tranny was getting WAAAAAAYYYYYY hot. I saw 230-250 and smelled some trans fluid   ( to bad there is no dam dipstick.....the TILOF ...

"I know how you love to hook wires to your car and push little shiny buttons Did you hear that gld is getting repaved "
hahahh yeah . I got some red ones that light up now too.If I flip that switch you better hang on  :D
Yes, I heard that GLD was getting repaved. That would be great!! Should be nice when it is done.
Re: POWERLOADER PROBLEMS. Has anybody had these symptoms? (intel55)
Check your fluid level again. Dont just jack the car up. Drive up on ramps and then jack up the car in the back. Remember the car needs to be level to get a true reading.
