What Do You Do When You Get A flat
Most all flat tires are caused by a slow leak from a nail or something similar. You TPS sensors will alert you well before there is a true problem and you can add air. This will give you plenty of time to get the tire repaired at a shop or at your home.
I run GSD3's and yes they have ALOT more grip and are ALOT quieter than the run flats. They are also a lot cheaper. I am on my second set and got over 40000 miles on the the first set. I carry a 12 volt compressor, the Mercedes jack that you can find info about on this site ( that thing is barley bigger than a foot long hot dog ) and the KING of patch kits Safety Seal. There is not a better patch kit available.
Many Many people will tell you of the disadvantages of plugging your tire.
I have used this patch kit on many cars and trucks ( I seem to be the tire plug guy of the neighbourhood ) and have never had one of them fail. And before he get the people chiming in on the tires not being safe at speed, I have patched Camaroes , Corvetts , EVO's etc at autocross events with the same results. ( I can feel the "A tire can only be patched not ever plugged" guys rolling in their grave now. )
If you are a washer waxer dude that puts 2k or 3k miles on it a year, you will be better off with the runflats. ( That way you will not dirty your trunk with a jack! ) If it is a daily driver but you are NOT mechanically minded and worry a lot, you will be better off with runflats.
If it is your daily driver and you are mechanically minded but feel more secure with run flats, then that is your choice.
If you want cheaper, better grip, and the ability to be the neighbourhood tire patch guy, get a jack, pump and a plug kit. If you are a die-hard MODDER you are not even reading this post as it would be way below you.( If it can be changed on the car I swear some of the guys of done it more than once. )
In other words, if you do not want to mess with it, stay with the runflats. You will be a lot happier. If you don't mind messing with it, get the stuff and enjoy the benefits of non runflats. Either way is fine, just do what you want and not what us "Your an idiot for staying with runflats" guy's say. I don't want you calling me when you wife tells you I TOLD YOU SO on the side of the road when your air pump breaks.
To find and plug the hole, you will most likely have to remove the tire.
