My question is at Bradenton during the shoot out last week I ran
the 1/4 at 13.005 and my speed was only 106.1 mph
How can I have such a good time with such an overall low speed? This is all relatively new to me. Thinking of 3.15 rear TTS headers and the Steve Cole Power Loader ll. Will this increase speed as well as lower ET? And will it bring them more in line with each other? THANKS BOB
You went 13.005 with 2.73s. You got out of the hole and used your power early. I went 12.92 at only 105.29... I have 3.15s too. MPH doesn't win the race, ET does. :) Did you shift into third at the very end? Can you finish the 1/4 in second gear? Did you take your foot off the gas too early?
When I see car turning better ET's with lower MPH's than my car, I figure they are getting everything they can out of them. What I mean is that the car is optimized for launch and quickness. Lots of low end torque.
I see cars at the track that have 1.5 60fts running 11.75 at 108-109 MPH.
These are no longer street cars as a rule.
Also if your torque convertor does not "lock up" your MPH might be down some.
