There is some paint damage on my roof. The car came that way and I thought it would not bother me, but it does. What I want to know is, does the metal trim on the sides need to be removed to paint it? I have heard that once the metal sides are removed and replaced, you will most likely have leaking problems. Need advice.
Me, too. My top was damaged in shipment. It's been repainted (looks OK) but I'd like to replace the side rails (roof molding?) because the little end caps broke loose. Is that a body shop job or a DIY? Wish someone would chime in that's repaired a roof.
A friend of mine got his top painted to match his car and they just masked off the metal trim and sprayed it. It looks very good so I don't think you would have to remove it if you don't want to.
Not trying to hijack the thread, but has anyone had their plexy top painted to match the car? Mine looks like crap and if I thought having it painted would work out ok I'd have it done.

I have seen a few thread topics on doing this. Try a search and you might come up with something to help you out.
