False reads are generally caused by headers, or any other sound producing component that generates a noise in or near the frequency that the sensor is designed to detect as "knock". Something as simple as a loose flywheel or TC bolt or the headers/exhaust ratteling can cause false knock. But the 98 is not known for being faulty vs any other year. Are you haveing issues on the dyno or the street with the tuner datalogging? My 98 has 166,000 HARD miles on it & have never had an issue...

Can't pull timing according to a tuner in the area. They believe the knock sensors are the problem. I am 99% sure all bolts are tight as I just did the clutch and used loktite where directed and torqued to spec with a manual torque wrench. A week later re-tightened header bolts.
Left the tuner with less hp then when I went in. Not happy.
No road tune or drivability was done either. Idle is too high as well.
Money down the drain. Should have just listened to myself instad of others and continued doing all the work myself and ordered HP tuners for another 100 or so dollars. Oh well.
