Default Texas Speed headers RUSTED

anyone else have any problems with the TSP ceramic coated Headers? I was just under my car changing Oil and noticed my headers are pretty rusted. Probably just surface but thats how it starts. I was under the impression the Ceramic coating was suppose to prevent this from happening.

sounds about right for mild steel headers, often if they hit a lightly salted highway once, they start the process

Unfortunately, that is why God invented stainless.

Sorry about your misfortune.

So where are all the geniuses who argued with me and called me an idiot on this forum for suggesting that ss was better than coated mild steel tubing?

Clean them, ebay them, and get some ss headers!

I've had Jet-Hots coated headers on my car for2 1/2 years here in Az.(read salt) and no problems. As far as SS they cost twice as much and what about all the air tubes breaking off the SS ones?

TSP headers are ceramic coated! If the headers are rusting the ceramic coating was most likely scratched off.

Just pulled my coated TPIS headers off the car after 4 years and 30k miles, still looked pretty good. Didn't even rust where I had the bung put in for the wideband.

Did they get scraped up or something?

I really dont have to worry about them rusting for me as I dont drive in the rain but if I had of sdeen this thread before I bought them I would have got SS headers, I got the TSP headers for the price AND cermaic coating. Couldnt you just sand the spot of rust down and spray some high temp primer/paint on there to prevent and more rust (on that spot)??

They have sadly been scrapped. Is it normal for it to spread so fast? they have been in less than a year.

I will be getting under the car later this month to remove the rust and apply a ceramic paint.

If you change KOOKS has some stainless steele one's! It's what I'm using!

No Rusties!

I'd call 'em and see if they an answer why they are doing it and if they can rectify the situation, if at all!

Keep us posted as to the results!

Thanks,matt
