E Brake Question?
When I pull up on the handle of my emergency brake if I go past 45 degrees there is a loud pop and the brake loses tension. It's almost as if the e-brake cable is snapping but if I release the handle back down and then pull up again it seems to work.
The brake does not hold well though either way. Why do you think the handle is popping, is the system set to do that if there is too much tension on the cable? Should I do the parking brake adjustment through the star adjusters in the rear?
You might well have to adjust the star wheel at the rear hub.

Just pony up and decide to go through the process. It's the only way to effectively cure the problem. Good news is: once done it will last for many years to come since the parking brake friction never really gets any wear as such. All it does is hold the car still. You know you have it right on the money when you have 11 clicks of the handle at full engagement (about 40 - 45 degree angle on handle)
