Default c5 rear quarter panel removal

I need to take off my 97s passanger side rear quarter panel. Does anyone know how to do it? It does not look bad but is there hidden screws or anything? Thanks .

You can PM EnglandGreen and ask him. He has his off his car right now and he could probably give you a quick answer.

As long as it is not a FRC it is easy! Remove the inner fender, nuts between the fender and facial, screws up the front and across the top.

If you have a FRC then there is some hidden screws to deal with!

Rocker panels, yes, lots of glue. Quarter panel and fenders, no glue. But on a FRC the top is glued over top of some quarter panel screws.

you will have to remove the tail light on that side to get to some of the screws, others are on top along the hatch and some are inside the door jam. buddy took his off in about 30 min with no prior knowledge...

How do you get a quarter panel off a FRC/Z06? Do you have to remove the top?

Look in the seam between the quarter panel and the top and you can see those screws. I don't know if you could get some kind of flexible torx tool in there, or not. I always wonder how that would be done when I'm waxing my car...

On an FRC I heard you have to drill 2 holes on each side right above the screw heads then reglass it after.

The manual states to cut the old fender off then notch the new to slide onto the screws.
I can look it up again if anyone is seriously interested.

Hmm, interesting. I'd be tempted to try and find another way...

That is exactly what the manual says

Normally, you can take off all the other screws and then pull the fender out from under the last remaining hidden screws. On older cars this will break the tab off the fender where the screw goes, but you will be using a little glue to replace it so that is normally not a problem. On newer car, starting some where around 2000-2001 GM notched the back of the bolt slot so the fenders will slide out much easier. There are three hidden screws on one side and two on the other. No way to turn those screws until the fender or top is removed. To replace the fender you adjust the screws so the fender will just slide under them, then you apply glue to the slot and screw and slide the fender under the screws. This way the glue around the screw holds the fender in place.
