This is gonna sound like an odd request but Corsa has an exhaust system close to what I want called the Indy pace car exhaust for the C5. It got me thinking, my favorite sound is that of an Indy car. How close can you get a C5 to sounding like one? Granted they're running almost three times the RPM's we can, can I get 6k to sound close?

If you do a Corsa Indy system with Longtubes (American Racing) You will absolutely be amazed at 6K You'll also be pleased cruising on the highway.........Your gas mileage however will suffer (long pedal syndrome)
I've got to agree, corsa pace's are the best you can do. I am partial to that sound as well and I ended up getting the corsa's. It's definately not the exact sound, but it's still great and it doesn't have that same run of the mill V-8 sound(there's a slightly exotic tone).
I suggest thinking outside the box. I have SuperTrapp mufflers after LT's, stock cats, and a Bassani X-pipe. Sounds the most like an Indy or F1 car than any other I've heard. The system is custom built, not specific to the Corvette. Some don't like the large mufflers in the back, but I do, they're unique.

I would love to hear a sound clip of your set up, I was thinking of going that way as well.
for your analysis. It has lt's, x pipe, and very free flowing cats ( ), with Corsa Indy's, also Vararam, which adds a little to the overall sound of things.

Sorry don't have a clip, nor do I have a vid camera that would work. I don't think my cell would be good enough...but I'll give it a try in the next day or 2.
Here's the EBay headers and X pipe w/Highflows and the Corsa Indy's. I don't think they have that exoctic high pitched sound you're after though. BUT they are sweet sounding at WOT with ZERO nadda, nix drone or resonnance!!!!!
Idle, I think the camera mic was cutting out on the revs;

I think you will find that American Racing headers have the most "exotic" sound of any, due to the fact that they place the "X" so close to the collectors, and ahead of the cats. The right headers and the right catback will get you what you want. For even more, change the cam and valve springs and rev it higher.

I used to have Corsa Indy's with Kook's LT's. The Kook's LT's have the xpipe very far forward, right at the cats. This improves the exhaust balance, but also takes away some of the V8 sound and makes it more exotic. With the Pace car exhaust it sounded very much like an Indy car. you can go here for an example of it: Corsa Indys on Dyno
After you get to the page, look at the clip for 99 C5, Kook's Indys. Just a note. They were loud. I since have changed to Borlas as I wanted a less Indy, deeper sound to the car. I would also like to pint out that the Corsa's had very good fitment and fantastic customer service.
I had Corsa Indys, Supermaxx LT with high flow cats but what really added to the "exotic" sound was my Maggie supercharger
The whine of the supercharger along with the rest of the exhaust never failed to put a grin on peoples faces

Hey Kris, man that exhaust sounds GREAT. You know it would sound better with those new wheels.
