Default Balancer Installation

I purchased a LS1 longblock that came without a balancer. I have a new balancer to install. Can anyone tell me the process to get it installed correctly. Everything I read says to mark the old one before removing it as a reference which in this case I can't do because it didn't come with one. Any help would be apreciated.

I know what you are talking about, but I don't know the answer to your question - I'm NOT sure whether or not it makes a difference - I do NOT believe it makes a difference if you are using an underdrive pulley, but if you are using a STOCK pulley, then I'm not so sure

No mark is needed. What I found to be an easy way to install these is to heat the pulley in an oven at 240 degrees for 20 minutes. Put a little lube on the crank snout and slide it on. My ASP pulley slid half way on doing this. Pulled it the rest of the way on with the old crank bolt and torqued to 240 ft/lbs. Removed and installed an ARP bolt and torqued to 200 ft/lbs.
