Squeaky roof panel solution
Just wanted to share with every one, I too am having squeaky noises from my roof panel. In my case, and maybe many other, I think it may be
a flattened weatherstripping issue, because I took a strip of insulation foam with the sticky back and placed it right on the front inside edge of the roof panel, tightened it down and I cant here the slightest peep now. I know its not the ideal solution but for 2 dollars of so at lowes it did a heck of a job and you cant see it at all . When you take the top off its in the back of the car and is underneath the panel so its never seen. Sure beats $500.00 weatherstripping repair for now.
I also had the dealer try to sell me a new body module and a relay for my steering column lock issue because the "service column lock" light was on.
Whoever bypasssed it before I got the car didnt know how to get it off. Neither did I until I read the thread here about removing the fuse and replacing it. The service reps at the dealership didnt even know. Can you believe they tried to make me spend $700.00 and replace good parts to get the light off. Unbelievable!
Anyway, I hope the roof panel issue maybe helps someone, even if its temporarily.
God bless
