I have a 99 with the stock radiator. I run dex cool but put in some Caterpillar now cool additive. The temps are in the range of 230~250 in town and 220~230 at 70mph, but I dont know if it is due to a stuck thermostat or because it is summer and the air damn has been taken off. Should I have not put the additive in with the dex cool??? It is a 383 stroker motor making alot of power. Also there is nothing blocking the radiator. Any help is welcome. Thanks, Nick

However, it looks as though you may have a water flow issue. What are your fan temps at? Im assuming that you have a tune and the fan on temps have been changed? If that is the case then I think you have a water flow issue. Either the thermostat on its way out, or the radiator is clogged internally. Does it take a long time to heat up at first in the morning?
After it heats up from driving it, let it idle with the AC on......im curious to see what the temp stabilizes at. Should be around 205° or so.

I agree with the "put the air dam back on" comments (it's there to create a high pressure area under/in front of the radiator opening to deflect air upward into the radiator) --
but at eight years old, with those temps, I'd wager that you have some significant radiator blockage. A flow check (or a drive with the shroud removed, then feel across the radiator face (not the A/C condensor face) to check for cold spots) should tell you whether the rad needs to be replaced.
