Default Racetronix fuel pump problems

I will try to keep this from being long-winded.

My car is modified, and has the Racetronix fuel pump system in it. It has had this system for about two years/10000 miles. Recently, it developed a problem. Intermittently, the fuel pump will stop working. Twice it's done it while the car was in motion. Most other times it will happen when you first turn the key. The fuel pressure on the gauge will read zero and you won't be able to hear the fuel pump prime at all. If you wait five minutes to an hour, the problem will correct itself. Thinking that perhaps the fuel pump went bad, I replaced the fuel pump and harness. That changed nothing. I have since sent it to a mechanic, who has checked out just about everything he could and so far hasn't been able to isolate a problem. Although it may be intermittent, it is a constant problem and will generally happen at least once a day. It has done it to the mechanic several times.

I have sent an email to Racetronix about it, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They haven't responded, and of course they don't give any other way to get in contact with them.

Does anyone have any ideas? Personally, I'm getting extremely frustrated. I'm about ready to put the car on Ebay with a reserve of a nickel.

I understand you swapped the RT hotwire and pump, did you also replace the oe fuel pump relay under the hood?

there is also a ck valve in the oe system that will fail

it's further down in this post

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1412619 , although if you don't hear the pump you can skip this link, now that i'm thinking about it

It does sound like an electical problem, probabily with the stock wire harness/relay.

One quick think you can do to test this... Unplug the Racetronix hotwire kit, and plug the pump back into the factory wiring.. See if this isolates the issue.

I imagine the factory fuelpump relay should be cheap enough, mine as well just change it for good measure.

Nice customer service.
Our dealers are able to provide personalized support as they are familiar with each individual customer's needs. That is why the C5 system is a dealer only item and NOT available directly from Racetronix. This forum is not a Racetronix support forum.

If you have any concerns about our service, please feel free to contact one of our authorized dealers or support@racetronix.com.

Thank you!
