I dropped my 98 C5 off at the paint shop for rocker panels to be painted, lower facia painted and under area of front bumper. I had noticed a problem with the bumper and pointed it out to the painter.
The part of the bumper underneath that look like tabs going around the radiator support skids are somewhat buckled. I ask him to check and correct it when he does the painting. I did not suspect anything serious because the fenders, hood and bumpers lines look great. Well, he left me a message today saying he had the schematics pulled up and thinks the issue is that the skid plate is warped !!! He had left by the time I heard the message. Does this sound correct? has anyone had this problem? I am leaving early in the AM for Mexico (vacation). I can call him on the way to the airport but don't want to get screwed $$$$. Any info appreciated.
This is a picture of mine, as you can see, the bumper cover is tied to the radiator/skid bracket by that small iron tab. So if it is crupled it could cause your problem. As you see mine has been abused quite a bit before i got the car. Hopefully this helps some.
