I am thinking seriously about getting a Vararam cold air intake for my 2001 A4 coupe with 3.15 gears. Have a couple of questions. Will I be able to install it and keep the fog lights? Is the installation diffcult? Anyone who has installed it not like it? Is it louder than a stock filtration system? Thanks in advance for any responses. I have a goal of getting into the 12.90's and think that this should help. No other mods other than a Corsa Indy Pace Car exhaust. I am also running Goodyear GS-D3 tires.
You remove the old fog light bezels and replace them with cut out ones.
The fog lights stay in place.
The install is not tough... a lazy weekend morning if you take your time and have several coffee breaks.
use Cajundude instructions (under the fuel induction and exhaust sectio)
i love mine, i don't have fogs, but there is a place for them. it took me about an hour or hour and a half going slow. pretty straight forward. i love mine. if you weren't listening for it, you wouldn't hear it. sound is nothing to orry about. if you have exhaust, then you def. shouldn't hear it. i love mine, i would recomend it
Cast my vote for it too. I bought the setup, put it on my old car. Removed it when I traded and re-installed on the next car. There's a few bolts that can be a pain, other than that it's no big deal. I'm satisfied with mine.
Besides a few scrapes on my arms, the install is very easy and should only take 2-3 hours. The quality is just "OK" But one thing for sure. My heavly modded '98 has 20 more rhp (with new airbridge) because of it!
