Claiming 6 - 8% hp gain. For my 2001 Z06 with 385 hp that works out to a 23 - 30 hp gain. Somehow that seems a little high for $299. The TPIS headers claim a 15 hp gain and while thats a lot more believeable, I'm even skeptical about that.
Now I understand that they are shortys, but that is still less than HALF the B & B price. That small amount of stainless steel can't make up the difference.
The Pace Setters are 1 5/8" while the BBK are 1 3/4" so I am more inclined to look at the BBK.
Does anyone have any experience with these headers?
The BBKs are shorties. I was thinking of going with a set of BBKs but I decided not to after I talked to my mechanic (IMHO a very good mechanic who will do all the work on my car) He said he wouldn't put a set of MAC or BBK anything on his car even if it was free. He said they just don't make quality parts. IMHO its silly to pay so much for a car and put cheap parts on it. I think I'm going to save the extra $$$ for the TPIS long tubes. But if anyone does choose to go with a set of BBKs let me know how they work. I haven't heard anything on the Pacesetters but I'm sure they don't make anywhere near the HP they claim.
While I don't know anything abou these cheap headers, the guy I have installing my system told me to avoid the TPIS like the plague. They crack and they do not pay the labor when they have to be repaired.
We install BBK shorties on Mustangs. The fitment seems okay on them.
Pace Setters are junk!
Im not sure I would install BBKs on a vette though.
6-8 percent increase? NO WAY...already BSing so thats not a good sign.
