Louis,
Glad you chimed in thanks....WC cars are solid rollers aren't they ??? If so which brand do you guys use, or which ones do you have experience with. I started all of this solid-roller stuff last year before the Caddy lifter, so I am going to try and see this through......No one likes a quitter....Plus which I already have to much time and money invested in this. Yeah maybe I should have just dry-sumped it to start with , but I like to try to figure out how to run more common stuff and make it work for the common person with a very modest budget..
Eraser and See5 ... I am with you guys, I dont want to go HV either that is why there is not one already in there... But a volumetric deficeincy is the only thing that explains a difference in pressure between high and low. That is why we are going to reduce some of the "bleed". I have the Crowers in my hand and they are significantly different. I'll try to snap a picture of the Lunati/Morel vs. the Crowers before they are installed.
Everyone keep their fingers crossed , I am getting closer to torching this damn thing, I have too many other things going on right now that need my attention to spend all of this time/effort/money on ( Like a big-a## garage being erected behind the house and an in-ground pool for the wife and kids.....talk about a "bleed"....OOOOUUUUCCCHH!! )
Danny- They were solid rollers in 04. The lifter bores were bushed, and we used Isky lifters. A stock pump cannot keep up with the oiling needs. We ran a stock pump with NO pressure relief spring ( IE Solid spacer) and it could only keep a 35 hot oil pressure at high RPMs. No engine failures or bearing problems because of the external scavenge, but we switched to a true 5 stage dry sump shortly after. Then they outlawed Solid lifters 8300 rpms is fun
Update to my situation.....Crower lifters no fixy........engine back out of car, going to completely disassemble and check all clearances myself, its "bleeding" somewhere. Crower lifters got upper/lower pressures signicantly closer, but still pressure still lower than I like when hot. If this were a drag race engine all would be fine, but I cant sleep at night with 5psi per 1k rpm.
