I seem to remember someone posting some info for a computer calibration update for pinging under light load. As I recall the update was hard to get :cry Well, my dealer is having trouble finding this update (but believes me since I showed him the GM Web page). I tried search, but thus far have had no luck. Anyone bookmark it, or copy the important info down... Thanks
Calibration History for :
ENGINE CALIBRATION Part Number CVN Bulletin # Description
16263723 N/A N/A engine calibration
09358625 0000A5A8 N/A new calibration to reduce spark knock and false setting of dtc p0175.
And I do recall someone saying something like they had to go through several levels of GM before they could get it... Any help would be nice :)
Oh, and that second line was not there six months ago (I suspect others may see the same thing - unless they have my car confused with the trucks they are having so much fun with)
All updated calibrations are available at the dealer...Is that info from a preliminary document???If so,it has not been approved to put into service yet which would explain the difficulty in being able to access it.Even we at the dealer do not have access to preliminary info, just the document heading (and there are lots of em ;) )
A calibration for pinging would be
You didnt show the dealer that you had access to the GM webpage, did you??? :nonod: :nono: :nonod:   ;)
That is what I got. 09358617 000056EC N/A new calibration to reduce spark knock and false setting of dtc p0175.
Its in my service records, not sure why your not seeing it C-5. I can tell the difference audiobly (sp) but need to verify with A-Tap.
Well, It would appear C-5 TECH hit the nail on the head with this one. Apparently the new Calibration is in a testing phase, and not really available "for the masses". I did manage to get it installed (I had complained about the pinging before), and for me it seems to work, at least for the drive home across town (your milage may vary).
As for the site, I don't think GM currently wants to hide it, but I can see how they might limit access in the future if it became a liability (several hundred forum members demanding the update for instance)
Well, I have a 2000 MN6 Coupe. They did not inform me of any details other than infer that I was "lucky to get it" :D so I can't even guess as to the years involved (although if you follow the LS1 Edit status that would indicate a best case scenario of 99/00). Thanks for all the help to everyone here (knowledge is power...).
