HELP with differential leak PLEASE
Does anyone know what the manufactured hole in the bottom of the differential is for? This hole is located on the front housing of the diff just rearward of the transmission. I am getting gear oil leaking out of it. Is it some type of overflow? I took it to a dealer for warranty transmission work and they overfilled my diff. I have since drained out the extra fluid. It is a 2001 ZO6 with 37,000 miles. Will it stop leaking when the fluid gets to a happy level? Thanks
