I opened my cluth reservoir today. They level was at the bottom and it looked like moisture had accumulated on the sides of the reservoir. 2001 with 6000 miles. Do you use Dot brake fld. in there? What is the fill level?
Mash
I'm far from being an expert, but have paid a lot of attention to my clutch fluid.
Proper fill level of the reservoir is to the shoulder that can be seen and felt midway up the side of the reservoir.
A very low clutch fluid level in the reservoir is abnormal and should checked out by the dealer for a leak in the system. But a leak would normally produce some telltale drops on the floor of your garage.
The spec, as stamped on the reservoir cap is for DOT-3 brake fluid. I have had my clutch bled and am running with ATE Super Blue Racing fluid which has a much higher dry and wet boiling point than DOT-3.
