It's not my finest work by any means but I only had a short window of time before it started raining again and the streets were dry for the first time in weeks. So I decided to make a quick video of my electric cutouts for you guys....Hope you like it. Oh, and the video really doesn't do justice for how good it sounds in person...just FYI.
Install wasn't too bad at all and I figure as long as I still had all my fingers after playing with an angle grinder...it was a successful install
My welding isn't the best but I figure I'll only get better with practice. I also staggered the cutouts so I didn't have to modify the turndowns so both sides are not completely even but I didn’t really care since I'll never see it. I'll update this thread soon with a Video and ore pics of the exhaust re-installed on the car...for the mean time here are the pics I have of the fabrication process. Sorry about the first one, crappy cell phone pic but I forgot to take pics right out of the box with a good camera.
This is after they were installed onto the Z….

Shweeeeeet !!!! What rotors are those? Do you ever wish it was quieter inside your car though? I get a headache from my Stingers when i drive more than 1/2 hour.

THe rotors are the Bare Eradispeed 2 piece rotors...I love the look!
Well I used to think the stingers were loud but my definition of LOUD is totally different now. The cutouts are so loud that when I close them I can't even hear the stingers anymore, it sounds like the car is turned off....lol. I have to get used to hearing the exhaust when the cutouts are closed because there is so much of a difference in the cabin of the Z.
I didn't have any problems with the install at all...just took a little time to get everything done right. I don't think I'll run onto any heat problems since I have the turndowns....but it does spit fire out of them every now and then...
I may have to do something like these one day. I think my current exhaust is too quiet, but I live in a condo complex and don't want to tick everyone off. I also like being able to hear myself think on long drives. Cutouts would be perfect. Very clean install too.
Yeah, I'm dying to do some cutouts (figured I'd go with QTP's) but I'm going to have to workout the welding with a local shop (which kind of scares me).
Very nice install. I am going to replace my turn downs with stainless. I have them painted with high temp paint now because they are steel. I put mine on with a Y pipe to keep the flow to the max. I don't know if the T style makes any difference though I think both probably take back pressure to zero.

Nice install on yours, That's what I wanted to do but I didn't have enough piping so I went with the "T" style...With the cutouts open I can barely feel any exhaust coming out of the stingers so I guess they are working fine. I didn't want to have to worry about welding in a Y pipe and getting the measurements perfect since I only had half a day to do the install so I went this route.
