Default Cutting Fuel/spark for compression test

Hey All,

I want to run a compression test on my 02 Z06 and I want to know how to cut the fuel, cut the spark, and open the throttle body for the test.

I had planned to just disconnect the coil harness connectors to cut spark unless you advise against this.

I dont know where the fuel pump fuses are, or Id pull them. Can you advise?

On other cars Ive done compression tests on Ive opened the throttle blades to allow air to enter the intake. Can I just have someone keep their foot on the gas pedal while cranking to open the TB and allow air to get in the cylinders?

Maybe someone could also cut and paste the service manual procedure in here?

Thanks

it's easier to just get one of those little jump start switches, and manually engage the starter with the ignition off. Having the throttle body closed won't cause any problems. I think it is cracked open anyway, but if not, you don't need much air to do a comp test

pull the INJ1 and INJ2 fuses from the underhood fuse block and pull the left and right ignition coil master harness connectors.

David is right about the throttle body, it will be cracked while cranking.........
