If you're looking for a simpler solution, that I believe is just as effective as the $200 Blackwing, and possibly made in the USA, here's what I did 4 years ago. It's a K&N RF-1040 conical filter, that just attaches to the MAF. Worked great, and cost me $42.
Great idea, but don't use a K&N! Step away from the terrible air filter.......
A Cheaper solution yet is cutting the top out of the Stock Air Box above the Filter - I used a dremel disc and cut inside the stiffeners or risers inside the box cover. Then to get cold air in, I drilled 16 holes - 3/4" dia. in each of the Blanked off areas beside the FOG Lights.
I have run a K&N Filter in my 02Coupe for aver 2 years and regularly got avg 20 mpg over the week driving back and forth to work (17 mi each way). After doing the mod, I now avg 21-22 mpg.

The Amsoil equivalent to this would be: EaAU4075
The same filter I got to replace my crappy Halltech Warhead filter.
If you know the size you could figure out which one from the above link.
These filters are a little expensive, but they filter extremely well without sacrificing flow, do not have the problems associated with oil wetted foam filters, and are cleanable and reusable for a total of 4 years or 100k miles, whichever comes first. For those considering these filters, I would sign up for the AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Brad,
Already did all of the above, great filters! I'm glad someone finally makes a quality filter in custom cone sizes.
Compared to $99 for a replacement Warhead that is a total piece of crap and doesn't filter anything, that's a smoking deal! Join the preferred customer program and it's cheaper.

Thanks.
I am excited about these new filters as well, though I can't use aftermarket intakes on my car due to class rules (though I do use the EA Air Filter in the stock size).
Though I can't quote AMSOIL prices online, the above mentioned price is correct. And I will say that the Preferred Customer program price is about 25% less than the above price, so it will save you about $6 to sign up for the initial six month preferred customer program (cost is $10). Benefit of signing up is that for the next six months you can buy all AMSOIL products at wholesale, same price I pay as a dealer. Info is in my sig.
I have one somewhat like that one and I like it a lot. I bought because of the look, but figured that there should be some performance gain. I does add a growl at WOT kinda like an old Rochester 4bbl.
