Default Aftermarket Power Steering Pump

I need to find an aftermarket power steering pump that can handle the belt tension of a supercharger. I have gone through 2 pumps. The bearings wearout and the pump breaks or the shaft bends and breaks. Are there any good pumps that fit a 99 vette that have better bearings and a stronger shaft?

Theres got to be an underlying issue.
MANY of us are runing 16-18psi and still running the stock P/S pump. And I know of at least 12-15+ guys that are in the 9's with oem equipment. As a matter of fact, I dont think they even make an aftermarket replacement pump. I saw in another thread that you are having the same issue on the alternator. I would be willing to bet there is something else going on thats causing the bending shafts.

The issue is with the tension of the belt. The tension on the belt causes the alternator and the power steering to bend. I am running around 16 psi on a paxton novi 2000 with an 8 rib setup. The belt slips with the tension any looser than where it is set.

But there are dozens, if not close to 100 guys that are runnning the Paxton Novi kit on the stock pump . I would be willing to be 99.99-100% of all of the paxton owners are running oem P/S pumps and alternators. WHY would your kit be ANY different?

The difference could be the boost getting up around 18 sometimes. I'm having to replace the alternator, the power steering pump (2nd time). I am going to switch to a 10 rib setup and hope that I can get the belt to not slip with less tension. Does anyone know anythin about COG setups and if they work good on the novi 2000

Maybe you need to try a different brand of belt.
