After just doing the rack on a 98 The "cooler" isnt anything more than a long section of hardline that runs from the rack back to the resevoir(sp?).
An aftermarket cooler would be easy to add. Locate the 3/8 rubber line that ports into the P/S resevoir coming up from the hardline attached to the rack. That is the return line and its low pressure,so put the aftermarket cooler in that line
Thanks for all the info. Its going into the dealer (under extended warrenty) to check it out for the second time. If I can manage it, I'll get the Z06 oil cooler line put in.
Ken Fichtner used to advertise the coolers several years ago. In 2000 I purchased one from him to install on my 97. It is a simple job and I was able to do it just using a jack and a couple of jackstands to get the front of the car high enough.
