Default L92 valvecovers

What valvecovers are you guys with L92's running? Weren't LS1's up to '99 perimeter bolt and later models were centerbolt? What do the L92's take?

Help me out. I'm completely clueless here, lol. I'm guessing also that us early LS1 guys using the L92's would need a different set of coil brackets to accomodate...

A quick look in the L92 section on LS1Tech indicates they use the centerbolt configuration found on '99+ motors.

Post #220 shows the heads with the centerbolt holes clearly visible.

Default L92 Heads / '00 LS1 Valve Covers & Brackets

I'm using the valve covers and coil brackets from my '00 LS1 on my L92 heads.

I had to modify (grind) the oil baffel in the right valve cover to clear the offset rockers. No big deal.

Ok so I need to use '99+ centerbolt valvecovers. I guess the coil brackets are also different?

Since I forgot to ask let me ask you this... what are you guys with LS1 based motors (not LS2's) doing for valley covers? Stock LS1?

You would need '99+ valve covers. Looking at an exploded view of a 97-98 head it looks like you would need the appropriate coil bracket as well. P/N 12563288 and is $8-10 a side.

My guess is those wont fit under stock fuel rail covers?

Those look pretty nice though. Especially the valve covers. Where'd you get those, same place?

My fuel rail covers wouldn't have fit with the L76 intake so that was my excuse to get nice valve covers. The valve covers and coil relocation brackets are all from Katech. They can be ordered direct from them.

Here's mine with L92/L76 setup.

I have my stock center bolt covers if you need a set.
