Is the '01 stock air filter replacement the same as the '97-'00 C5s? I just read a post in the general discussion area that mentioned a difference. I just bought a Purolator stock air replacement and I can't remember if I looked up the part number under a '00 or an '01. I thought the stock air filter has been the same all along.
The 01 oem box has a rectangular port like opening about 2"x2" versus the 97-00 which had four round half dollar size openings and a little plenum to help out. If you try you can probably use the same K&N though since I think the bottom half of the oem box is unchanged
from my 2000 to my 2001.
Steve, roger that...but is there a difference in the size of the air filter between the '00 and the '01 (i.e. are the part numbers different)? Thanks, Mark
Borla is announcing a new filter line to compete with K&N next week at the SEMA show, it will be called the BORLA AIRJET filter. Our catalog as well as K&N's show the same filter from 97-01. Our filter has the same flow as K&N but is more efficient, and costs about 10% less...look for it in catalogs and stores early next year
Richin Chicago, thanks...that's what I figured...again I thought perhaps there was size difference in the stock filters from '00 to '01...obviously there isn't.
