Default Power seats (memory)

Hey People
Just got my 02 I,m a first time Vette owner, 52 yrs. old can you believe it! Has anybody had trouble with the memory seats? Mine works sometimes but other times it stays in the easy entry position and won't move even manually.I shut the easy entry option off but it still goes back when you leave the car. Need help ......Thanks ..Pat

Hey Pat,
Congratulations on the purchase. I just bought my 02 in January when I turned 50. Love it. But, as you indicated I also have a memory seat position glitch. Every once in awhile the seat won't go into the auto memory. I find myself needing to put it in park and push the number one position setting to reset. My headlight covers also pop up when I turn on my parking lamps on. Oh well, just electrical ghost I guess.
Best of luck with the car.

Default memory seats

My o3 coupe needs to have the security system engaged and disengaged or I have to manually set the memory button. I believe this correct functioning.

Seat memory is activated when you push the "unlock" button on the keyfob as you enter. If you didn't need to unlock the car, you'll have to push the memory button on the door to activate.

Seems to be a lot of this happening lately. I will suggest that you look into the driver's seat connectors that connect to the car. One of which on my '99 is a 7-pin connector. That connector (on mine) is the problem child. Clean those contacts carefully and I think your problem will be solved.

Pat,

Welcome to the forum. I got my first Vette last year and I'm 64. This is a great place for info. So far I replaced a door control module, fixed a rocking driver's seat and installed the Frost King insulation.

Congrats

I have an 04 Z06 that has the same problem, I found that there is a connector in the accordian boot between the body and the door, the electrical contacts in the connector loosen from the opening and closing of the door if you hit the accordian you can feel the electical connector and sometimes this is enough for every thing to go back to normal, you may encounter as I have nothing works in the door at all locks window memory function once again it is the electrical connection. I have yet to remove the connector and put the wires together in another fashion.

Good Luck and many happy miles

Pat
