I just installed my antenna bypass switch from Mid America Motorsports yesterday and just went to start the car... and nothing happened.
I get the click keys, like the battery is dead and I get a LOUD noise from the CPU right under the floor mat by the passengers feet.
I installed correctly, the switch works. DIC says "Low Voltage" and car won't start. I ran the switch wires along the passenger side of the car under the panels, and zip tied some of the wires to some close by metal of the inside of the car at some parts.
Weird thing is, when I put the key in the ignition and turn to "on" without starting the car, everything is low voltage, like the horn is very weak, but it does beep.
However, when I take the key out, the horn works perfectly....
Also, the DIC only came on once and said "Low Voltage" then never came on again. The HUD comes on, like normal and in the left corner it says "Check Gages"? What does that mean?
I guess that could be a possibility... that would suck.
Whatever it is, the switch drew A LOT of current.
Some of the wires are touching metal though too, could that be a problem? Weird though too. Everything basically works with the key turned to on, but with low voltage, however, the trunk (where the switch wires were spliced into the pink antenna wire) will not open with the remote key or the button on the dash...
I mean I can't even get the trunk open to disconnect the switch at this point!?
Now the dash is beeping like when you leave your lights on, and it won't stop...
I swear, I can't do anything by myself without something going wrong. I obviously can't even do the simplest things like splice a wire and run it to the glove box...
The first thing I would do is, remove the switch from the wiring circuit and put back to original and charge the battery. If all is then fine, install the switch again and put a meter in line with the switch and measure for any current draw with the ignition off.
BTW- an interior light was not left on accidentally overnight? Also when you say wires are touching metal, due you mean the wire insulation or bare wire?
I mean the wire insulation, so that is not the problem.
But I cannot disconnect the switch because I can't even get the damn trunk open. It will not open with the remote key or button on the dash. The convertible top opener will not open...
... AHHH
PS - I am not sure if a light was left on. Im pretty sure nothing was though.

Don’t despair, Things always go wrong sometimes! You’ll work it out.
reach behind the drivers seat partition under the carpet and you will find a thin silver wire, if you pull on this the trunk should open then you can go from there.

Disconnect the battery from the car and charge it. If it's a gel cell battery charge it on the two amp setting. Anymore will fry it. After charging it take it to Autozone or any other parts store and have the do a load test on it. Also check your grounds. It just sounds like bad luck to me. Let us know what you find out. David
Tried the silver cord already... no luck. I cannot get the trunk open whatsoever....
I am charging the battery with my "Battery Tender Plus". It is all hooked up and charging, but the CPU under the passenger's feet at the top of the floor mat there, keeps randomly making noises and stuff...

Open the top and leave in the folded state. Pull the silver colored cord in the center behind the driver's seat to release the top's stowing compartment. Reach in to the trunk remove the center lid and you will find the trunk release in the center next to the CD changer. Pull it downwards.
I would disconnect the battery cables while charging. If there is still a current draw, your tender plus may not keep up. Also in this case it would be easier on you electronis in general.

I removed the center compartment, but I feel nor see any trunk button. I also do not have a CD changer...

Oh well you will find it hard to locate then. It is a silver cord about three inches long against the rear of the center compartment in the center. Your best bet would be to feel for it.
Now you guys are saying to completely uninstall the switch and see if the car runs without the switch in?
Then what?
The antenna switch works perfectly, even with the low voltage on all the other electricals in the car. So the switch is definitely working, but you guys think it is drawing to much current?
Plus how am I suppose to put the wires back together? The instructions were to cut the wire and splice it... there is no way the original wire will be long enough for me to put it back together... to touch to two ends?
