I had just over a 1/4 of a tank of gas when I went to sleep last night, and when I cranked the car up this morning it said "Low Fuel." Put gas in it this morning, and the needle didn't budge. And it keeps saying "Low Fuel." What could be the cause?!
Do a search on the gas gauge issue it is well known. Sometimes it can be fixed by running some Techron fuel additive through your system. The main reason for the malfunction is a build up on the fuel sensors

My 2001 Z has the same problem and I keep it in check with a periodic diet of Techron and trying to keep at least half a tank in it.

Plenty has been written on the subject..
I had the same issue, try 1 techron bottle when you fill up ur tank...(20 gal treatment) if it doesnt clear it up, do it again the next fill up, you should be OK unless there is truly a mechanical issue...
I did the above and now use techron every 3-4 tanks of gas, not an issue since...hth
So I have seen this on my vehicle and am convinced it is a pin/socket corrosion issue on the connector. Try cleaning contacts with a brass wire brush...worked for me.
