Default What else is under the intake manifold?

I need to replace my 2001 LS1's oil pressure sensor and knock sensors to fix two current problems described in other threads. I plan to order high quality replacements from Standard Motor Products (versus the GM parts which have a bad reputation, especially for the oil sensor).

What else is under the intake manifold that I ought to replace while it's off the car? Thanks in advance!

Nothing else really under there--However if you have an oiling problem with the T-Body sucking oil via the PCV system ( quite common ) then i would replace the PCV valley cover with the LS6 valley cover--It really helps with manifold oiling--HOWEVER--you must have a LS6 intake I believe or the LS6 valley will not fit under the manifold-can't quite remember for sure----but look into your manifold after you have it off to see if it is oily--probably is ---most are very badly saturated---then ask to see if it will fit--cost 2 years ago was only $75

What problem are you having? I was incorrecly told my knock sensors were bad too by a tuner who didn't know crap. However it was as described like an earlier post, oil in the intake mixing with the fuel and causing detonation. Knock sensors don't go bad too often. Got it resolved thanks to Jeremy Formato.

Good Luck
