I didn't get very much video on Sunday. One set of in-car which is pretty cool. Not a great burnout at all...I think my second run of the day....and even though launching at 3500+ it still bogged. I launched at 4000+ after that...sticky track. Several people suggested I should do a longer burnout and hopefully that will take me down into the 170's or 160's for 60' times. I know I'm still slow on the shifter but wanted to give you some sense of being in the car anyway. I like how the front end lifts now on acceleration, don't you? :D
Second set is the elimination run with Darth. If you listen to it a few times, you can begin to pick out the exhaust note of my car and Darth's and hear I was shifting a couple of tenths before him through the run. Good thing I had a head start, wasn't the greatest ET or MPH...he had me on both...I just got him at the tree.
I know! That was my second run of the day (the in-car) and I was better by the eliminations but still in the granny shift mode. I figured I'd do BEFORE shots then later when I learn how to shift better, I'll have something to compare to. :D We'll vote me most improved or something. :D
EvilDeed... good to hear from you Bud. Yeah nice not having a cloud of smoke following me like I had in BG. And the friggin clutch was doing great.
My best times on Sunday: RT: .505 (most in low 600's) no redlights
60' mostly low 180's
ET: Best was an 11.98 on motor (no juice)
MPH: Best was 120.
My car is detuned for nitrous use (pulled out timing, different plugs, a little richer, and different plug gap) Nick says I was probably only running on Sunday with about 425rwhp and a little better than that in torque. Hopefully I'll get to run on the juice at Ennis. That will be a whole other experience I'm SURE.
 :D Doug that car is Crazy! Brought back memories of my ride in Bowling Green Labor Day. Damned, I love the way that car sounds! Nice runs!
Yeah I learned a lot on Sunday. Really heating the tires will help the 60's, not lifting so much on the shift (I am not inclined to powershift the MN6 tranny...don't know that it is up to the task) and adding the bottle. Best way to get weight out of the car is for me to lose weight. :D
I saw every one of Doug's passes that day, and he definitely was getting better with each pass. Near the end of the day, he was launching the car nicely and the shifts got a bit quicker. Just takes practice, and it was a good day for it.
