Default Which ARP bolts?

I am going to be doing my head and cam set up soon and am gathering the final parts. The heads are a set of Trickflow 215's w/ a custom grind cam. Which ARP bolts should I buy? I need a bolt for my ASP underdrive pulley so I will buy the harmonmic balancer bolt for that. Then I see a main stud kit and a head bolt kit. Which do I buy, or should I buy both? If you have part #'s that would be super!!! TIA

I bought a set od ARP head bolts from Summit Racing.
I went with the head bolts, studs come into play if you removing the heads often.
Part# 134-3609 price is $139.95.
Also make sure to get the ARP assembly lube ARP-100-9903 $6.95
I used a OEM bolt for the crank.

Good luck

Those (134-3609) are the head bolts. Is the head stud kit (234-4316)not necessary? What's the difference?

You use either the bolts, OR the stud kit...one or the other.

The ARP bolts are cheaper, and will get the job done, and of course are better than stock head bolts. They are reusable too,
But the stud/nut setup has much more direct clamping force compared to the long bolts (given equal socket torque loads). Much less likely to have a head lift or have a gasket leak with studs. This is the big reason to choose studs over bolts. Ease of future head swaps, and never again having to clean out the block boltholes are other nice benefits the studs offer too.

Here's a pic of the studs installed.

The gasket and head drops on right over the studs. Then a washer and a nut is placed on each stud, torque the nuts, and you're done.

That was a great explanation for using studs
