As I travel down the highway either going over a slight bump or uneven surfaces there is a popping noise which seems to come from the
windshield corners above the dash. Is anyone else having this occur in their car. I had my car now for over 2 years and I believe this
started a few months ago. What could be causing this. I have a 99/coupe and it's pretty noticeable. Should I take it in and have it looked at. :bb
It's probably your roof. My 99 coupe has had the latches adjusted 4 times in the last 7 months. Last week the dealer ordered a new roof although an adjustment fixes the problem temporarily.
If it sounds like the dash, it's the dash. I also had the roof squeak and have fixed them both for good.
To fix the dash sound, simply spray a very small amount of wd-40 in the gap between the dash and the side underneath the windshield by the pillar (hope you got that). Then fold a paper towel and run it along the inside of the gap to mop up the excess. Sound is gone.
I have a sound that is coming from the dash. Sounds like it is originating in the same location but it is more of a rattle. Started after the installation of a grumpy cam that kinda shakes the car a bit. It sounds like a screw that is vibrating on a plastic plate. What does the WD-40 fix? The windshield rubbing the dash?
