Default Rotor question. Need help please

It's time to change my brakes and decided instead of turning down the rotors, i would just get new ones. My question is when i went to my local autoparts store, the man there told me that the front left rotor and the front right rotor are different. Is this correct, or does this guy not know what he's talking about. Thanks in advance.

From the posts here Napa is the best and cheapest source for vette rotors. The cooling vanes face opposite directions, so yes there is a difference in the front rotors side to side.

I believe they are different. The vents in the rotors go one way toward the back I believe(that was the way my old rotors were). I don't have my reciept but I'm almost positive mine had different part numbers. I got mine from Napa $28/each

As mentioned above, the vanes face the rear on all stock replacement rotors....
therefore each of the 4 rotors is a unique part.

I recently replaced mine with GMPP drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads and love them! Increased stopping power and little to no brake dust! Got everything from a dealer on eBay for around 300...

More than just the vanes, the rears have the parking brake in them as well which is a small drum.

Good luck with the change, there are a couple of good write ups around here if you search.

Default Gm Rotors

Got my OEM GM Rotors for $22.80 at GM parts wholesaler (sells AC DELCO parts to dealers). Don't get some EL CHEAPO if you can get the real thing for equal or less money.
Only put new ones on the front... the rears were fine but pulled em and set the P B starwheels so the car COULD be held by the PB. BIGHANK

Tripod5,
The rotors do not need to be turned when doing a pad replacement. If the pads haven't scored the rotors and the rotors are not worn to thin there is no reason why you should replace them or turn them.
