Am I going to hurt anything by Jacking up using the frame and pucks, I was planning on jacking up one corner at a time swapping the wheel, then moving on to the next corner. Any advice not to eff up my car.
Bought some Z06 Rims and want to swap out for the thin spokes that are on there.
Thanks,
You'll have no problems if you use the pucks. I've had my car up a few times with a jack for brakes, sway bar, etc and have had no issues. Soon I'll have a lift in my garage and my work will be a helluva lot easier!
It won't hurt anything... you might hear a few noises - don't worry. Oh btw a Kwik Lift is worth every cent.
Oh - most importantly make absolutely sure to always use jack stands once you get it up in the air. You never know when a jack will bleed or fail... I think my somewhat new racing jack is on its way out - left a nice little puddle of grease... thank you jack stands or else my car would be toast.

Hi POK868.
Here is the jack-point diagram from a C5 service manual. Official info to supplement....see thumbnail
To lift both rear wheels at the same time, I put a 2"x6" on the jack and lift at the rear cross-member, as shown in the diagram.
I use the lift points on the frame for jacking the car. If you just lift one corner at a time the frame will stand the weight. Since I do a lot of tire changing between DOT R tires and street tires I usually just jack at the front lift point and lift both wheels (NASCAR style) off the ground at one time. It saves a lot of hassle but the frame is then holding about half the weight of the car in the little circle of the jacking puck and after jacking the car 20 or 30 times will tend to dent inwards at that point. If you use a 6 inch piece of 2 x 4 instead of the puck the frame will be fine.
DNDRSN,
Was a little worried about jacking up my vette for the first time as well, read about doing it but never actually say anyone do it. Your video put me at ease. Thanks
I have seen people at SCCA events with a C6 jack from the side and lift both wheels off the ground on one side at a time. It is a quick way to do a switch but is this safe with a C5?
