Default ** Loose Fan Blade **

My car has been over heating and I found the problem - a loose fan blade. Does anyone know how the blades are attached? I am assuming I need to pull off the fans and replace the blade assemble or could I be lucky and just snap the fan back into place - too hot to try now?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Remove the fan motor - IF I recall correctly, there are 3 bolts to remove it - the fan blade slips over the motor shaft, and there is a 10mm (I think its 10mm) nut that screws onto the motor shaft to hold the fan blade on - tighten that, reinstall, and you should be good to go

Do you need to remove the entire fan shroud to do this?

I'm not sure whether you can get the fan out without removing the entire fan assy or not - I would definately TRY to JUST remove the fan only, and not the entire assy -

I can look in my shop manual later tonight after work and let you know what the procedure is - let me know if you need me to do that

And the nut that holds the fan on has a left hand threads so it's "right-loosy, lefty-tighty"
