Default Fluid Leak

I have a small leak in the rear of my 99. The fluid is a reddest color. Do you think the leak is coming from the Trans. (6Speed) or the Differential? How do you check the Differential to make sure it is not low? Where is the plug located? How do you tell if it is low? Is there special tools needed? If you think it is the Trans. any suggestions? I Know this is some dumb questions, but I have never worked on a newer Vette.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

Default leaky butt

Do a search on "leaky butt" in this forum. This is a common problem. The diff fluid is a little greenish in color -- unless it's been changed. Spray with brake cleaner, drive a few miles and you'll see the leak.

Dexron III from the transmission ( Auto and Manual) is red and low viscosity. (slippery when rubbed between the fingers)

The differentail gear oil is a brownish (amber-green) color and high viscosity ( slightly sticky when rubbed between the fingers)

Sounds like transmission fluid to me.
