I'll be replacing the shocks on my daily driver Vette soon and didn't know whether to go with the HDs or the Sports. Which shocks are closer to the the original C5 z51 shocks, is it the HDs, Sports, or C6 z06 shocks?
Sports are stiffer than HDs. I recently swapped out 50K mile original Z51 shocks for the Sports; have about 5K street miles and a few AutoX and I'm very happy.

Peter
I have tested almost every year and version of stock shocks and they all have nearly identical gas force. So if you are seeing a increase in ride height when changing to a new stock shock it is because your old shocks are worn out.

Nearly every shock made will have a gas force, including Koni and Pfadt. The majority of shock designs have a gas force. The exception is through shaft dampers which still have a gas pressure but have no gas force extending the shaft.

Hope this helps.

Good info Josh. The C6Z sure were harder to compress than the old stockers.

How do the PFADT compare to the C6Z as far as compression force?
