I was just reading about Vette Doctor's Dyno tuning and l was wondering for only $300 what can this do for my vette?
It's 100% stock with 13,000 miles. I have the so called perf rear and l have a blackwing that's been sitting in my house for a year that l will be putting on in the coming weeks.
Dyno tuning will maximize the performance of your car.
If you don't plan on doing anything other than adding the air filter then I would put that on and have the car dyno tuned, but if you plan on doing other mods in the near future like headers etc. then wait because the Blackwing will not require dyno tuning.

Basically agree.. I added a halltech stinger and got a tune after having it on for a bit. I am guessing you have an A4 and dyno tunes on stock/near stock A4's end up being worth a bit more than on MN6's. The altered shift points and shift/speed firmness changes make the car faster.
If you know you are going to do headers and other stuff soon, wait, otherwise do it..It is worth the money.
You may pick up some extra power - also sometimes there is a small increase in driveability at lower speeds.
With just the blackwing, and unless you really drive it harder than I think you do- you may want to save your $300 for when you get some other mod that the computer needs a little help in adjusting to.
Right now l'm still sitting with the blackwing in my garage because it would make me nuts if l blew something.
Right now the only thing that l have in mind is possibly picking up a vert but as long as my dog is still around l'm confined to a coupe. And being that my vette is 100% both inside and outside also plays a big part of keeping it.
I would save the tune for a cam or/and headers... Consider buying a used Programmer such as a Hypertech or Predator.. I've seen them on the Parts for sale Forum for as little as $100-$150... The Programmers will increase timeing,, shift points,, shift firmness, adjust fans to come on earlier and a few other things.. Programers are not as good as a professional dyno tune,, however they can give you a nice increase on a bone stock engine and save you a few hundred bucks. I picked up an extra 13 rwhp from a Hypertech,, when I was bone stock.. Well worth $100 to me

If you are worried about "blowing something" by just putting a Blackwing on it, I would say a dyno tune is not for you, because you really won't want to hear your car on the dyno.
I would also guess that your mod list will be very small. If that is the case, I would do like David426 said and get one of the handheld programmers.

Funny I'd run into your thread..here's the reason for me having the coupe. I'd agree with most that a tune will benefit you most after a header install............
