Default SCL recall done, still get warning message

I had the SCL recall done on a 01 Z06 ( stock ). After picking up the car, the "service column lock" message still showed up in the DIC. Dealer told me that recall just covered the reprogram for the SCL, but not to get rid of the DIC message.

The car is not throwing any codes, so there is nothing to clear on my side.

THe dealer said they would have to do some extra changes to my car's computer to turn off this warning message. Of course, this was not offered for free,

Is there anyway I can do this myself?

Find a better dealer. The GM recall shouldn't have any DIC messages after it's done.

I know squat but I did just read the 31 page thread about column locks this morning. Unplug either fuse #23 or 25 (not sure which one) under your passenger side footwell. That should reset your PCM and eliminate the message. Dealers suck!!!

Edit - Oh, and plug 'em back in after a few seconds...
