There is an article in the July issue of Corvette Fever talking about a Hurst shifter swap. I know there have been many threads about shifter swaps, but what do people think about the Hurst shifter? I had read somewhere that they have a nice feel but make more noise.
My car is an '04 vert, don't race, just a really nice ride.
Some make noise, some don't. For those that do, there are multiple workarounds. The Hurst shifter was one of the first and best mods I have made to my car. They're not for everyone. They are stiff and notchy but that's exactly the way I like it. The stiffness can be adjusted with different springs but most people get accustomed to the stiffness after a couple of weeks and don't even notice it after that.

Although in time, I think they loosen up quite a bit. I bought a C6Z06 shifter to try but couldn't bring myself to remove my Hurst so I sold it. The Hurst Classic shift ball pretty much eliminates any noise/vibration, in my case anyways.
I bought my Hurst shifter for performane reasons(missed 2nd to 3rd) power shifts. Shifter took care of this problem. I love it. This shifter is not for every one however. I would not change shifters if I was satisfied with the stock one, because there is no doubt you will not like the feel (stiff ness) (small vibration) and extra heat to cabin . At any rate best of luck with your decision and enjoy your ride.
