FOB loses programming when outside?
I thought I had a bad battery (in the FOB first and in the car afterward) but now I am unsure. As recent as this morning my FOB lost memory while I was at work in less than 5 hours. It has lost programming overnight but seems to only lose it when it is outside. I have kept it in the garage for several days in a row and as I recall it always retains programming then.
It hasn't been cold out, quite the opposite actually.
I did replace the FOB battery already.

I have the same issue. I too replaced the battery in the fob, nothing changed. After a few hours of searching this forum, I found a wealth of info in the sticky at the begining of the C5 Tech forum. "IMPORTNAT ELECTRICAL INFO". You need to read it. All sighs point to a ground problem. So, went out this evening and bought a can of contact cleaner, this weekend I will be cleaning all grounding points on my 99. From what I've read, the G104 grounding point, located under the battery, is the grounding point for the fob receiver. Hope this work, will let you know.
