01 LS6 motor installed in 00 A4?
I have a chance to get a low low milege 2001 LS6 motor for $4200.00 complete from a reliable source. It comes complete, heads, exhaust manifolds, intake, plastic valve cover shields....everything. How likely would this work in my 2000 A4? I know I would need custom programming but i'd need that anyhow if I where to do a Stage2 heads/cam combo on a LS1. And I still need a new engine block to work from. Whats everyones thoughts? Can anyone see any other problems I might run into? I am already convinced I would have to have the PCM shift the car at 6000RPM even though the LS6 can rev to 6600 but GM powertrain states 6000 on all shifts are the limit of the current 4L60-E.

In addition to the "long block" most GM "line engines" that are shipped to the plant include the wiring harness and the appropriate PCM© When I was researching the possibility of putting an LS6 in my 2000 Coupe I was told that it would mount up directly to my MN6© Not sure if that is true for the A4s or not© Good luck! :cheers:
