Any experience or knowledge on adjustable HAL shocks for drag racing?
Thinking of doing this to knock some time off of my 1/4 e/ts. My suspension is 100% stock otherwise. Any input as to how many tenths, if any, will adjustable HAL shocks help me in getting this PIG to hook up a little better.
Thanks,
Nitrovette
P.s. Also, BFG Drags just aren't cutting it anymore (6o foots) and wondering how much E/T streets will also help me out for next season.

Not knowing what your 60's now it would be hard to guess how much they would improve your launch. With drag radials my opinion is it wouldn't be worth it. With ET streets Shocks a stock TC and your HP you should be a rip off 1.7's or 1.8's.. DRM did more than just the shocks on my car but with Dougs tuning my N/A 60's dropped from 1.7's to 1.47-1.5o's They sell the shocks and could advise you on the set up.

Hey Nitro:
Just got in and got your message. My Sprint phone sucks. I got the message waaaayyyyy late. Anyway..
I have seen personally 2-3 knocked off with the HAL setup. This was with 16" rims (with ET streets)though. I bet you could see a 2/10 pickup with the set put on.
To bad you were spinning so much. With that amount of power you really should use smaller rims for drags. Some car, other than mine own, is running around Chicagoland with my BFG drags and 17" rims right now hahaha!! My drags are also very very bald!
watch for that ARE setup. I cannot recall the specifics, but I believe they have some shocks and a way to enable you to run 15" rims for the track. Then you could run real slicks, like Hoosiers or MT's!!

Just installed the Hal shocks and am ready to track test, however, wont be till I return from Norris with heads/cam install. Nitro....if I had your ets I would just retire from the power pursute and enjoy. :yesnod: I'm looking for 11's NA....when I see those, I shall relax till I get ripped off by an fbody at the track, then it time to open a bottle :D

Its funny that you should say that because just today I broke down and bought my friends and fellow vette forum guy's NX 150 wet kit, with all the bells and whistles (he made me an offer to sell that I just couldn't refuse :D) and I figured oh what the hell, its great to know that in a couple of months I will have an everyday reliable driver that's cabable of the high 10's! :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:
Good luck with your new heads and cam (Your are going to LOVE your new power) and you should see 11.s no problelm. Then like me, you will open a bottle sometime thereafter and have a 10 second street machine!
