every once in a while when I get in and fire up the car, the "service ABS" and "Service Traction Control" warnings come up, and the dash lights come on. I have a feeling that my module is going out? any thoughts or experience?
Seems like we all have them (sooner or later). First you need to check your DIC readings. That will help point you in the right direction for further analysis. I would suggest do a search on the forum and you will come across a ton of info (seach ABS or EBCM). You want to start with the by Bill Curley (very informative).
If it does out to be C1214 reading you may want to consider contacting ABSFIXER. Mine is heading there this week as I a just removed the EBCM. For what I've read, he has an excellent track record of repairing the unit for $150 (vs. dealership at $900+).

I have a complete file (with photos) on how to check, remove/install & where to get it fixed (for $150 )...just PM me your email address. Bill
Before reaching for your wallet, look at Bill Curlee's post on electrical stuff. It's a sticky at the top of this forum. The grounds on these cars can be a problem.
I had an intermittent like you're describing, plus some other odd symptoms. Cleaned the ground connectors up on the top of the frame rails behind the headlights (see Bill's post for pictures), and haven't had a repeat. The ground for the EBTCM is somewhere in that mess, at least on the 99 and later cars, and some of the 98s.
Cleaning the grounds wasn't a tough job. I also put a bit of AlCu (Aluminum to copper splice compound) on the nut and stud where they attached, as the nut and stud look to be brass or copper, and the lugs are aluminum. These metals set up a chemical oxidation - houses wired with aluminum wire have bee known to have problems with this. I also coated the pins and housing of the connector with dielectric ("tune-up") grease to help with moisture.
No guarantees, but it's good maintenance, the grease and compound won't cost you the price of a good cigar, and it may fix your problem.
My system just lit up like a Christmas tree this morning. But it came on after we started having some bad rainfall, I wonder if this caused when of the sensors to get wet and set the fault code. I will clear it later on today with Predator and see if it comes back. If it does, I will be doing the $150 mod myself, no way I am paying GM 1250 to replace it.

CalifKid, just emailed my how-to & where-to-fix-it file to you. Good Luck! Bill
Thanks. I was driving home today on the autobahn and the all of the lights were lighting up and going out, no rain this time. It was like it is a short or something. Then something bad happened to tell me that maybe my stuff might be broken, the brakes were pusling when I was slowing down, and the more I psuhed into them, the more they pulsed, they never did this before, so I am thinking perhaps something is wrong for sure.
