Ok, so the other day i was backing up and the car was in reverse, well the clutch popped out of gear and grinded a bit and immediately died. I thought no big deal, so i went to start the car up again and the starter turned for a few seconds before starting up and i noticed my clutch petal was as light as a feather. The clutch is in great condition as you can normally tell when gears are worn out on the clutch but all of them felt fine before this happened. I believe the syncronizers in the tranny are still fine as i can still put the car in all the gears. (its just a lot harder now). the main problem i need answered is, the clutch now has to be pushed all the way in with a bit of pressure to get it to go into gear and when i release it less than an inch now it catches. This is not at all how the clutch acted before this happened.. I need any sort of input and or what i should do about this?
You have a hydraulic clutch meaning there is a master under the hood by the windshield washer reservoir and a slave unit inside your bell housing that depresses your clutch pressure plate. Check your clutch fluid for starters. Have you noticed any leaks under your car? How many miles? Is your clutch fluid black? Might need to be flushed out and replaced with new clutch fluid. There are lots of experts on the forum that might chime in and help you as well.

The car has a little over 31k miles. I will check the fluids in the morning.

It's probably bad fluid, if it has never been changed.
The fluid is full.. Not black although the brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir is kinda dark. but that wouldnt have anything to do with the clutch. i think its the master/slave cylinder.

Then before doing anything else, I'd go through the fluid change protocol for about two 12 ounce bottles of brake fluid. The GM-brands are fine, as is Prestone and many others.
Get the fluid clean, really clean. Don't skimp on the 20-30 pedal pumps in between.
That will usually solve your symptoms. If it doesn't, the next steps involve inconvenience and expense.
